"With the urban renaissance going on downtown, you'd kinda expect the value of Henderson, Nevada homes for saleto take a jump. Especially since it's Nevada's second-biggest city," Caroline observed. "But that's the problem. Lack of affordable housing." "If you check out the fourth quarter of 2005," she went on, "you'll find that six of the seven Henderson ZIP codes had median home prices of more than $300,000. Not exactly what I'd call a purchase price that many working the casinos could swing." |
Granted Henderson has suffered growing pains. Still there are many fine parks. The infrastructure has pretty much kept pace with development. And the area is known for having good schools.
But it's just another example of why you have do more than just peruse the Henderson, Nevada property listings if you're looking for a new place to live. Since what you think of the city depends on where you sit.
"One side of Highway 95 puts you smack in the middle of the Green Valley area. Which is very nice. The other side you've got the chemical plant and Water Street. Less than nice," Wagner added.
"Still overall Henderson is a lovely place to live, if you can afford it. As long as you realize that you have to a bit more digging beyond the list of Henderson, Nevada homes for sale your realtor provides!"
