Great Neighborhoods of Houses in Las Vegas

Las Vegas Nevada New Homes, Condos and Townhouses

Many of the houses in Las Vegas that have sprung up in the past decade have provided families new to the area with a base to enjoy the lifestyle of fun in the sun. In a truly awesome city that has literally risen out of the desert.

Known to many primarily for its casinos, there is much more to Vegas than gambling. In fact there's lots to learn about the area that many of the Las Vegas Nevada new homes give you access to.

For instance you're less than 30 miles from the waters of Lake Mead, the massively impressive Hoover Dam and the Colorado River recreation area. Then there are the hiking trails and snow-skiing available at 12,000-foot Mount Charleston off to the northwest. And you can easily take in the Grand Canyon on a day trip.

Truly a modern American boomtown, Las Vegas offers home owners ample shopping, parks and recreation.

While even subdivisions in Green Valley provide housing to many residents.

Not to mention Henderson Nevada, which is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation.

Or if you prefer there's Lake Las Vegas, a colossal resort/residential development.

Then while it's true that tourism remains the engine that powers the city's growth, a variety of high tech and health care oriented businesses are setting up shop. Many moving from that high tax state to the west, California.

With the median price of houses in Las Vegas now north of $300,000 this isn't exactly cheap housing if you're moving from Des Moines. (And there's the issue of a potential Las Vegas house bubble that’s poised to burst.) But it's not bad compared to what you'd pay to live in San Diego. And it may not be the red hot housing market it's been in the past few years however. When prices were exploding - literally.
