Las Vegas Home Mortgage - Should
You Get Preapproved?

Applying for Las Vegas Home Mortgages
Before Going House Hunting Is Just Plain Smart

Wide eyed with ears open, Tyler and Caitlin Levering attended a first time home buyers seminar sponsored by a local Las Vegas bank home mortgage loan department.

"One thing we learned about a Las Vegas home mortgage is you really need to get pre approved," said Tyler. "As a Realtor pointed out, you come across as a stronger buyer. Plus you can avoid the worry about whether you'll qualify for the loan. So a preapproval letter is much better than a mere prequalification, definitely."

Caitlin added, "We were told to shop around. But only apply to at most three lenders to save money on fees."

Your quest for a Las Vegas home mortgage should have you checking out the fees and interest rates charged by your credit union or bank, perhaps another local lender and an Internet-based loan company like Lending Tree.

Another advantage of such a move is you'll have a good idea how much money you can borrow.

Did you know you can get a customized preapproval letter at the last minute to attach to your purchase offer. Which doesn't reveal the maximum you've been approved for. Which can keep the seller from asking for more money for the house since the bank says you can afford it.

"Then too, the lending institution has checked you out a bit," Tyler added. "They're making a commitment. It's something like a seal of approval from one of the local Las Vegas mortgage lenders So it's a higher level of proof you can qualify for a Las Vegas home mortgage big enough to complete the deal. If you know what I mean."
