Prioritizing the Las Vegas Real Estate For Sale

Buying Las Vegas, NV real estate has been compared by some to climbing into a smoldering volcano. It's exciting. Somewhat risky. And potentially dangerous to your wealth. But the payoff can be enormous. Since when many Americans retire the biggest asset they own is their home.

Before you can get into the nitty gritty of hunting houses, condos and homes around Las Vegas you need to do something some find hard to do. Develop a list of what's important to you about a house.

For many, this is the hardest part of the real estate chase. Others may not even bother only to find out too late the house they bought is all wrong for them.

So please do take the time to come up with YOUR priorities BEFORE you even think about pouring over any Las Vegas real estate listings. For now, here's a list to get you started…

Distance to highways
Property taxes
Style of house - ranch, bi-level, colonial etc.
Nearness of shopping
School system
Commute time
Lot size
Home owners association or not
Age of neighborhood
Number of bedrooms

Anyway take those ideas and add whatever is important to you. Then (each of you) rate them on a scale of 1-10 and compare notes.

Once you have developed the list of what's important to you, you've got a yardstick to use to eliminate houses that don't pass muster. Plus you can avoid the costly mistake of buying Las Vegas NV real estate that's completely inappropriate for your family.
