North Las Vegas Homes - Go New or Resale? What They're Not Telling You About North Las Vegas Real EstateSome will tell you that North Las Vegas homes are to be avoided. Naturally like all generalities there is some truth and some myth with such a statement.
Usually newer homes in any city, North Vegas being no exception, are usually on the outskirts. Often that means less shopping and longer commutes as you wait for the infrastructure to catch up with the property development. Yet with a newly built house you can select the color scheme, type of carpeting, appliances and so forth. But established neighborhoods have developed character. A sense of community even. You can see what you're getting and can safely assume it will stay that way for awhile. Can't say the same for new developments. Then if you plan on selling out sooner rather than later, buying into developments of new homes might make that harder to pull off. Since the builder may still be putting up new homes for sale in Las Vegas, Nevada - just blocks away. Which makes it kinda hard to compete, don't you think? And if you're dreaming of a spacious back yard consider this. The rule of thumb for North Las Vegas homes, and elsewhere in the Valley, is the older the subdivision the bigger the lot the houses sit on. Buildable land is getting scarce. So new builds are being squeezed onto smaller and smaller parcels of land. Forcing builders to build up or to focus on alternatives like North Las Vegas town homes.
