Real Estate Agents - Las Vegas

Help Finding Your Best Las Vegas Nevada Realtor

They were ready. Alan and Judi Winkel had lived too close to the Strip for too long. Having learned the hard way that the farther from there the better. At least if you're looking for the safer more appealing neighborhoods.

But now the lease on their condo was up and it was time to move on up. And out.

"Our best bet was clearly the Green Valley/Henderson area. I mean some weekends Judi practically lived in the Galleria at Sunset mall."

So when they set out to find their dream home in the desert they worked from a script to find the best realtor to help them sort through all the homes for sale. Knowing that much like location, location, location are critical for real estate, it’s experience, experience, experience that counts most with the any agent you decide to work with. Las Vegas realstate agents being no different.

“Right off,” Alan said, “find out if your candidate a full-time Realtor or more of what you’d call dabbler? Bag the dabblers right away. No offense but real estate agents in Las Vegas Nevada are a dime a dozen. You want a pro on your side providing real estate listings to consider.”

"Ask about how many deals the person sitting across from you was involved in plus find out what their company sold in the past 12 months."

“Then,” Alan added, “find out what neighborhoods they specialize in. No one can be an expert in an area as large as greater Las Vegas. Realtors who is active in your target neighborhood will be more familiar with the homes for sale plus any builder association rules and regs than someone who has never sold a home there.”

"Don't forget to ask what end of the market they work in. If they deal with starter houses and you're moving up to something bigger can they really help you? Perhaps. But still."

“Finally,” Winkel went on, “if at all possible network and use word of mouth: It just makes sense to look to people you trust to find one of the Realtors in Las Vegas you can trust. Can feel comfortable confiding in.

We were able to do this and it worked out fine. Not an absolute necessity, but still an advantage when you can.”

Thanks Alan. These are some good ideas to keep in mind whenever looking at real estate agents. Las Vegas or elsewhere.
