Picking a Realtor Las Vegas Nevada Style

Looking to Find Las Vegas Realator? Here's How…

Unpacking the groceries, 32 year old Beverly Bangert, a recently minted teacher in the Clark County school system, walked past the still unpacked boxes in the garage.

"Doesn't matter if you're looking for a Realtor in Las Vegas, Nevada or Bangor, Maine. The process to use is pretty much the same," she said. "Since I'm a teacher and was off for the summer I had the time. So the task of winnowing the field of prospective real estate agents fell on my shoulders."

"First I picked high profile real estate agencies from the newspaper. Clark County Nevada Realtors are no different than anywhere else. So it wasn't hard to find the ones that did more sales than most. I managed to convince someone at each one to give me the name of their best agent," she said with a smile.

"Then I set an appointment with each a couple days apart. Asking each to give me a market appraisal or whatever they called it to get an idea of the value of my home."

"Gina was dressed for success but didn't produce a number. Not only could she not place a value on the house, she seemed a tad put out that I asked. Down right unmotivated even. My five cent tour didn't even seem to move her excitement meter either. How she sold so much was beyond me. As we parted my brain was silently screaming 'Next!'", Beverly admitted.

"The next real estate agent, Bill, seemed more focused on getting a listing. Sure he came across as a eager beaver and all, but eager for what? He didn't seem to listen to me but sure did talk a lot. And the number he produced was lower than what we were hoping for. Or felt the house would sell for. Plus he conveyed the message that we'd be lucky to work with him. Again the word "Next" popped into my head."

"Hal was different than the first two. He listened to me, paid attention as we walked through the house, noticed improvements we had made and seemed excited by what we had to offer. Without prompting he threw out ideas to try to help sell the house. We certainly seemed to connect."

"Again," Bangert confessed, "as with most busy families, six weeks we went by pretty quickly. Never heard from the first to candidates ever again. Guess they assumed we'd touch base when we were ready to move forward. While Hal kept in touch by email. Sending us more helpful ideas and updates on what was happening in the local real estate market. Or just what you’d expect from a competent Las Vegas NV Realtor, no?"

You don't need a crystal ball to predict who got the job. Whether looking for a realtor in Las Vegas Nevada or elsewhere I'd imagine you're going to find a knowledgeable and experienced agent who stands out from the pack too just like Beverly did. Just take a bit of leg work is all.
